I’m Darth — the guy in the red fedora.
For over two years I have been building Linux Renaissance from scratch, with no corporate backing, no sponsor deals, and not dependent on any algorithm to survive. Just a genuine belief that free software knowledge should be free for everyone.
Here is what that looks like in practice:
300+ videos covering free software, Linux how-tos, BSD, and opinion pieces — all produced, edited, and published by one person.
Live Linux classes every Sunday, modelled on LPIC certification material. Real lessons. Homework. A structured path from zero to confident Linux user, held together by a real community rather than a disposable Discord server.
A dedicated forum where all of this comes together — curated topics, searchable knowledge, a place where nothing gets buried in chat noise. Built so that the people who find Linux Renaissance today can benefit from everything that came before them.
This is not a side project. It is a full commitment of time, energy, and care — given freely, because I think it matters.
If it has been useful to you — if a video saved you hours, if a Sunday class clicked something into place, if the forum answered a question you had been sitting with — this is how you can make that work worthwhile for me.
Support on Patreon
Patrons keep Linux Renaissance independent and sustainable. I am also working on something extra for patrons on the forum — more on that soon.
Support with Ko-fi
Prefer a one-time tip? Ko-fi works for that.
Support on GitHub Sponsors
Sponsor Linux Renaissance on GitHub — handy if GitHub is already where you live.
Everyone who supports gets a shoutout in the video credits — unless you would rather stay anonymous, in which case just send me a message.
Thanks. It genuinely means more than a corporate version of this page would ever let me say.
